Bears of Hope

                           A volunteer organization

   WHAT WE DO

We make handcrafted huggable fabric bears to bring comfort and hope to sick and needy children and adults. We give our loveable bears, without charge, to:

* Children's Service Agencies

* Hospices

* Women's Shelters

* Police & Fire Departments

* Clergy

These groups give them to someone they serve who needs hugs, comfort and hope.

Bears Facts

* January 2012 began our fifth year making bears for individuals suffering a trying time in their life.

* No two bears are alike.  Each bear is unique, just like the bear's recipient.  That's our philosophy!

* We rely on volunteers and monetary donations to do our work.

* We have no paid staff.

* The bears are not for sale.  They are for sick and needy children and adults.

Making the Bears

It's time consuming to make the bears. Fabric needs to be purchased, the bear pattern traced on it and then cut and sewn into bears; next  bears are stuffed and openings sewn closed; after that facial features ironed on and bows tied around each bear’s neck; and lastly packed and delivered.

Bear Makers

 Volunteers give their time and effort to make the bears. They choose the task they wish to do such as sewing fabric into bears, stuffing bears, and more.  Most work is done in volunteers' homes and at their convenience.
